When Anju Bobby George put Indian athletics on the world map

On August 30 2003, 16 years ago, Indian long jumper Anju Bobby George made history when she won a bronze medal at the 2003 IAAF World Championships in Paris. Anju leaped 6.70m to finish third on the podium, becoming the first-ever Indian to win a World Athletics Championships medal.
